The case of Lawrence vs. Texas was indeed a very startling case as this case is about sodomy which is a controversial topic even in law. The case was pretty sensational as the police came to the house of Mr. John Lawrence regarding a complaint reported for weapon in the house. But after entering the house, the police found Lawrence and his partner Garner in a compromising position. Lawrence and Garner had been involved in consensual sexual act with each other. They were confronted by the police officers as they were homosexual and they had been arrested by the officers as they were charged with violation of the state law which forbade certain sexual intimacies between homosexual couples ("Lawrence v. Texas", 2002).
